BB: We normally stay at West Yellowstone, Buffalo Crossing Park adjacent to the IMAX Theater. We have stayed inside the park as well. West Yellowstone has many tourist facilities.
Madison campground inside the park is nice, no hookups. Only campground with hook ups is Fishing Bridge. We have stayed at Indian Creek north of Norris Junction. It is pretty primitive.
There is two ways of getting to Rushmore. Go north and run I-90 or go east through Cody and pick up I-90 near Buffalo, MT. Going I-90 is faster but will take long day. For us going through Cody about two days. We do not do long days!
