I live in the Jackson Hole area, and you've had good advice on the roads. Definitely avoid Hwy 22 over the pass from Wyoming into Idaho. We have just bought our first TT. Pick up next weekend from Pocatello, ID. We'll be driving home through Alpine, WY on US 26 rather than go over the pass.
Agree that Teton Pass, hwy 22, is not recommended for those wanting to avoid steeper grades with winding roads. I did navigate hwy 22 with my TT in tow (8500-9000 lbs) but have a 1-ton diesel (family of 4 and bikes, kayaks loaded on truck) and a set-up that has been fine tuned by me. I had no issues with that pass but I am used to mountainous driving too. It certainly can be done but is also easier with a correct or over spec'd TV.
I did not climb the Yellowstone east entrance but that is the way we left the park headed home. The decent is standard for mountain driving so expect to be geared down and paying attention. I didn't find it too bad but again, it is a mountainous style drive.
