Yeah, the payload sucks, but I think too many of you exaggerate the limitations way too much. It appears to be within 200 lbs of the Hemi in the same configurations. Personally, I have no problem pushing that limit a little. I do it all the time with my current half ton.
Just give me a chance to put one through its paces while loaded up with 5 large adults. Me thinks it will perform just fine, even in emergency situations. They may not though.
That is an interesting point about the 2500 mpg. If that is what others are getting in similar situations then the baby may very well prove to be a winner.
