Off topic but I read an article recently from some engineers that stated hand calculating was inaccurate due to never knowing when full is full and how much gas volume changes with temperature.
The engineer stated the computer needs to know exactly how much fuel it is injecting into the engine at all times in order to meet emissions so it is much more accurate than hand calculating.
I know that's counter the prevailing thought on the net.
I was hoping RAM would increase the payload to at least 10% over the 1/2 ton trucks rating but the 3900 pound axle rating stays even though the engine is heavier.

But that is with a standard injector flow rate on a multi dimensional fuel map. There are many variables and manufacturing tolerances that will impact that. Personally, the dic on the vehicles have driven have been fairly close but I can see how some can be just inaccurate due to variations on the measured variables.
