It is not a niche. Chevy is coming out with a smaller diesel as well. Ford will follow suit I'm sure.  As soon as consumers pulling small trailers figure out they can get 20 miles per gallon towing they will switch from the Ecoboost and Ford will have to do something. That is just my opinion though.  The eco-boost was a good idea but it really gets no better gas mileage than a hemi or Chevy 5.3 motor. Only advantage it gives you is pulling up a grade. Now the new game is fuel mileage
