While I agree. They are both Chrysler/Fiat vehicles. Wife has made a decision. It's never my job to argue with her. I work within her stated parameters.
Our Trailhawk problems have been ongoing for some time. We currently have a non repairable cooling system problem.
Ouch... What's not repairable about a cooling system?
My wife decided she wanted a new vehicle and initially gravitated towards the Grand Cherokee. So we test drove both a Grand Cherokee and the Cherokee just for kicks. Right after we drove off the Jeep lot she commented that her '11 Ford Edge with 76k miles drove and felt so much better than both of the brand new Jeeps so that got us back to the Ford dealer looking at vehicles. She ended up picking a '14 Ford Edge Sport and this thing with 305hp will scoot.
I've heard Ford is working on a product to safely clean the soot.
It only leaks antifreeze as a vapor. I don't work on anything with a car payment. I buy new cars to spend more time with the family. While I have my theory for what's wrong. It's a dealer/manufacturer problem, not mine. I also live close to the dealer. Not too much trouble to drop off in exchange for a loaner. The Cherokee also had various Hvac issues and poorly machined driver rear knuckle. We had 1.5wks where everything worked good. It's time to move on. Too bad. The heated seats and steering wheel are great. It also has adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring.
