I’m a bit surprised to read this; you aren’t thinking about going with a new Cummins? The price of these new diesel half tons isn’t a whole lot less than a new 3500 Cummins.
I don't think that is true unless you are comparing a Limited 1500 vs a SLT 3500.
Huge difference in driving comfort and MPG as well. If I sold my RV, I wouldn't have a 3500.
This is my thinking. I would like to have the ride and fuel efficiency of the half ton and still be able to tow my current trailer. These are the things that would make a new truck an "upgrade" for us.
The Cummins is roughly twice the price premium of the 1/2T truck diesel and probably ends up costing 10 to 13K more.
