I wired mine to one of the posts on my 30 amp circuit breaker that is mounted to the frame next to the battery. This way, I don't even need the battery to be installed for the jack to work fron either the truck or the shore power. I did this because I remove my battery whenever the trailer is at the storage lot, and if I ever need to operate the jack, I don't even need the battery.
