They've got to start somewhere, but....
The author thought it would have a 100 mile range. That's not much for class 7 truck that's going to do city delivery work. Then before they go 100 miles they'll have to drive back to the yard for a 1 hour or longer charge. What are they going to do, buy twice as many tractors as they use now so they always have a set on charge. That's just going to kill productivity.
It would be interesting to see what the batteries consisted of. Maybe they'll make the battery packs so they swap out like electric forklifts?
