I find it interesting that all the comments kind of danced around the Payload Issue. One must remember, every pound that is added to the curb weight of a vehicle subtracts a pound from the payload, unless the vehicle frame, suspension, and axles are specifically built to compensate for the added weight, which adds even more weight.
Will we have to put Load Range G tires on a one ton pickup in order to have a 2000 lb. payload?
Yes, the electric truck could very well be the tow vehicle of the future. Since we need something like R. A. Heinlein's "Shipstone" for a power source, and that hasn't been invented at this time, I wonder if I will live to see it...
I know I will never own one. I just can't see spending that much money when I am on SS and military retirement!
