Electric truck - tow vehicle of future ?

I want the space people to return. When I was a kid they fixed a few cars that never needed fuel again. Oil companies most likely found those cars and buried them in a deep hole somewhere.

If an air craft carrier can go years without refueling, why can't we make a car or truck do the same thing.
