Good points about the sound of a V8, and the feel of shifting through gears..................if you are an enthusiast. Which is a small % of the population. Compare how many Corvettes are sold vs Toyota Camry. And in the Vettes, look further to how many are manual transmissions.
I am not saying I disagree with you, because personally I feel the same way about a car (although I am partial to the sound of the 6 cylinder in my Porsche). But we are a small (and shrinking) % of the auto market.
