The Tesla forum has lots of good info re reliability, mean time between failures etc. I see them in passing. I believe the new drive train being used has an expected life span of 800,000 km (500,000 ish miles. 900 Tesla battery packs have been monitored for degradation by a British firm and they estimate that the average Tesla battery pack should have 80 percent capacity at around 521,000 miles. Of course the car will.probably a taxi long before then. Early leaf packs have degraded much faster than that in hot climates. So far we have seen very little degradation in either of our EV's. Hard to track actually without the right equipment. We just use our range meters after a full charge but that is dependant on a bunch of things so....not very scientific.
Interesting stuff though.
