Because my PG&E 3 day blackout turned into a 5 day blackout last year. Just like a 1 hour blackout can turn into a 1 day blackout.

PG&E lied about the time the power was going to be off.......BY A LOT!!!! So do you really think they will be on the money with "It's will just be off for an hour?" Seriously?
And Shiner brings up a very good point. I lived it last year with my BHB car. Fortunately I had about 50 gallons of fuel at my house so my wife and I could get to work. I also had about 1000+ gallons of diesel fuel on hand so I could drive for months. If I only had an EV that would not have happened.
