I never said it was. Nowhere in my post did I say it was because of lack of generating power.
The point is, I didn't have power to charge my car. It doesn't mater why. If a gas station doesn't have gasoline or diesel for some reason, I have many others to choose from. With electrical power it's one and done. PG&E is my only choice.
I can store million of BTU's on my property very easily and cheaply for many months of running. Not so with electricity.
The worst thing is to only own a pure EV on the coast. If a hurricane come guess what happens? Ya, the power goes off. So you're trapped because you don't have any "fuel" to run your car out of town.
Do you really think PG&E is not going to start shutting off power again because of heat and wind?
I will say it one more time. It does not matter whether it's lack of power or heat and wind liability. If the power is shut off, it's shut off and I can't recharge my car.
