Where did I ever say I didn't have a generator?
I don't need it for my car. I can drive my "electric" car on gasoline anytime I want. OR if it's charged, I can drive on electricity only if I want. OR I can charge my car with the gasoline engine in my car. It would be silly for me to use 2 to 3X's the amount of fuel to charge my car when I can just put it in the car and drive.
You see, with my car I have a choice.
The old saying of "it's nice to have options" holds true in my case.
