I have a Honda Ridgeline truck pulling a Jayco Eagle pop up. We are camping at a site with no electrical hookup. What type of equipment/setup do I need to power a 120V refrigerator? Thank you.
You would need either....
1) Generator capable of producing enough wattage at 120 Volts
or
2) Battery(s) with enough potential to power a 12 VDC inverter to allow 120 VAC power to the fridge. You will need a large inverter to handle the wattage demands of a fridge, and a large bank of batteries to supply the inverter. You will also need a way to charge the batteries (generator) since charging using your Honda will be very hard on the electrical system of your truck.
The batteries really are not an economic option, especially since you will need large gauge wiring, connectors, an inverter that costs several hundred dollars... you will be looking at a minimum of $1000.00 plus the assembly time.
