Elixir ELX-30

My 12 year old Outfitter Apex has the Elixir ELX-30 power/converter in it. I have the owners manual, not very detailed, which states that the fan is variable speed and will stop when demand is low. It's always been annoying, short-cycling on/off at 30 second intervals even after I turn off lights, etc. to go to sleep, and it keeps me awake, if plugged into 120v. at a campground. When I plug into 120v. at home after a trip, the fan would come on and run continuously for maybe an hour --except now, when it doesn't come on at all. Simultaneously. it seems that now my 2 x 6v. deep cycles do not get charged either when 120v is plugged in, or when the truck is being driven. Lights, radio, inside the camper still run off the batteries. Frig never did. Suggestions for trouble shooting? Or is this a total replacement? Thanks. Tom McCloud

You have an open circuit. Trace the wire from the deep cycles. Voltmeter or test light is fine. Disconnect from the truck chassis battery. At some point you will find voltage on one side of a point and zero on the other side. Repair, replace, reset, adjust, clean or tighten that place you find. Probably not mid wire but at some connection, fuse, circuit breaker or switch.
