Emissions check engine light on 2013 Chevy 3500 Duramax?

After about a half tank towing on the freeway all day my check engine light came on and the manual shows it to be emissions related. Diesel cap is ok, I'm guessing bad batch of diesel (truck stop). I ...

If no drivability issues you may wait and see if the code clears itself. If it s a one time event and does not re occur the PCM will generally extinguish the CEL after a certain number of drive cycles if that code doesn't re-appear.
