Test it out, but in the newer GM trucks, dropping it into M drops a gear when you shift it in and putting it in M with tow haul on drops 2 gears.
I don't like when the truck slams down 2 gears instantly.
I do not believe that is true. When you shift it into M, it just stays in the current gear until you physically shift it up or down.
