The 3 litre F1 engines were normally aspirated and turned 20,000 RPM. The 1.6 L engines are turbos and limited to 15,000 RPM. The cars are hybrids and get another 160 HP per lap from the electric motor for about 870 HP total. They are as powerful and torquier than the 2.4 L normally aspirated engines they replaced and use 35% less fuel. They are limited to 34.5 gal for a two hour race and fuel flow is capped at 32.8 gal per hour.
