Do you have Hydra-Matic 4-Speed transmission, or the Allison Transmission or
Hydra-Matic 6-Speed transmission????
Has the 6-speed 6L-90 transmission coupled to a 4.10 diff.
Only way I am going to find out how this thing tows is to get our TT back home and get out on a camping trip up some steeper hills somewhere.
Looked up the RPO codes and it's supposed to have a 10 gal. natural gas tank somewhere but can't see it yet. Must be hidden behind the metal shroud under the bed? No idea how to run it on natural gas but I wonder if that could be an emergency backup if we ever ran out of gas somewhere (when towing the TT). I guess it would be down on power/torque though.
The NG cell was in the beds of these trucks right behind the cab and the beds were 8ft, at least it was on the 2015(I believe) I looked at. The NG has a different mapping so the engine power is less, about 300hp, because of EPA emissions standards. There’s a separate set of injectors for them also. The good news is NG has a very high octane rating and if you were to get a tune you’d be putting out quite a bit more hp while using NG. The only reason I didn’t buy the truck was because this particular 6.0 was a dog. Would a tune have helped it out? Probably. I found my 2011 2500HD with only 46,000 miles and bought it. It is not a dog and hauls my 8k TT without problems.
