I just wish Blue Ox made a 1200# hitch. They go from 1000# then a 1500#. Too little or too much. Guess I'm stuck with going to a noisy Equalizer...
My question would be - why are you trying to outguess the Blue OX engineers who have obviously decided this 1000 to 1500 lb gap is quite acceptable, keeping in mind that Sway Pro spring bars, unlike any other spring bars, are designed to bend significantly when properly loaded. Seems to me that without definitive proof that says otherwise 1500 lb bars will work just fine for your situation. Your choice though - the Equal-i-zer is certainly a proven system but it is also a much older design that could really benefit from a major updating to overcome several of it's many flaws. JMO, but having owned an EQ myself for 6 years I'd opt for the Blue Ox.
