Looking to get some feedback if anyone with the e2 hitch have tried the pads on the bars and how they worked

i have the e2, and haven't had a single problem yet. I don't grease anything either, and no pads. Yea there's some clicking and popping, but that's normal, and doesn't really bother me. I've thought about greasing the ball, but that's it. The friction points are there for friction, that's how the sway control works. Greasing that reduces friction. Not sure why you would want to reduce friction on a friction point.
