Protecto wrap says on the label it is not designed for UV rays and needs to be covered. I can say scrap pieces I have stuck to boards while trimming have laid outside for a couple of years before going to the burn pile and they are still stuck on and flexible. But what it is good for is vibration protection and stopping rattles. A couple layers inside a battery box will stop harmonic vibration or between dash panels to stop rattles. Between metal and treated wood to prevent oxidation. It would work really well as a "on the road" temporary fix if you accidentally punched a hole in the roof.
