My wife's daily driver was a 2007 Yukon, we also had a 2001 GMC 3/4 ton. In order to upgrade, we traded both in on a 2015 Chev 2500 Diesel. This was a daily driver for my wife for the first few years we had it. She loved driving the truck. No bigger than the Yukon, although a little longer. She now drives my old car as I drive a company car, but the truck gets used regularly and when we need to tow. She really hated when she switched from driving the truck to a car. Once you get use to the feel, you won't think it is too big. Our only issue, is we are limited with a 3/4 ton and wish we would have purchased a 1 ton from the beginning. I don't think they drive noticeably different at all but much better towing. Just look how many people on this forum buy 1/2 ton trucks then start shopping for a trailer that is too big for their truck. If you are buying, don't settle for less than what you really need. Not sure that you would notice a difference driving around town in a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton, but you would when you tow your trailer or shop for a new one. I also don't believe with a newer diesel there is any issue with how much you drive. We have only put around 6K miles on it this year as well as last and it's been just perfect.
