I don't think I can recall a more perfectly titled thread. Love the title, hate the results.
And, last thoughts, but sometimes in 4WD one can accelerate just slightly to pull straight out, letting the front tires do the pulling so to speak.
But from the pictures, it just appears there was no room, or even ability to do this where you were located. A congested area with trees nearby, a downhill slope, and your house at the bottom of the hill.
It is the Kobayashi Maru from Star Trek fame. A no win scenario. Perhaps with time to think, things did turn out as best could be expected out of this.
Something was gonna get damaged. Luckily it was the item easiest repaired.
