The OP clearly says he could have stopped at the top of the hill and walked down, but decided to go on. What should he practice, parking unitl the snow melts or going down the hill on his own property? In his case he practiced going on and it was not fun.
I'm sorry if what I wrote sounded like I thought NRALIFR's accident in his drive was fun and games. I don't believe he had fun.
I was referring to practicing on ice in safe conditions to hone up ones skills in slippery conditions.
