That's tragic and it happens over and over. That's why we limit our trips onto public roads with ice and snow.We trust my driving but not the other guy. Hah, Hah . I put the jeep in the ditch on it's side and I didn't have input from any other vehicles just my own wonderful driving skills and help from a suprise patch of black ice on a turn and a hill. Very humbling.
Many times in bad weather, I prefer to take the road less traveled just to avoid others that are also out. It may be a little more difficult route, but the only problems I will encounter will be self induced instead of from outside sources. I think think all of us have had unexpected experiences with ice at some point - If I am offered a diversionary ride, I also prefer that others will not be in my path.
