Not necessarily... IB516 reported a while back that his buddy pumped gas in his GM Duramax and the truck was sputtering till he found out what had happened.
I can assure the OP that gas will cause scarring of the internals on the CP3 and long term durability will be reduced. The senerio you have to ask yourself do I want the gas station to pay the bill now or do I pay it later.
