You may want to consider a 3/4 ton GM Suburban or Yukon with either the 6.0L or 8.1L from that era if you can find one. As Grit said earlier, the LS engines are bulletproof and they are really nice trucks. We have a 1/2 ton 2001 Yukon and it is a great truck.
