Expedition or Excursion $6000 budget
Our big summer plans included overseas air travel so we are switching gears to an extended domestic road trip (assuming the dark cloud has lifted by august) At the moment we have no camper or TV but we have owned a bunch over the years. Thinking about something smallish like an older hybrid.
For a tow vehicle with this budget i can find a 12-15 yo expedition with low miles (110,000) Or a 20 yo Excursion with a V10 and 180,000 miles.
I've spent a fair bit of time face down in ford modular engines. but i know nothing of the V10 or the 4R100
Always risk with a used vehicle. Is a V10 a decent bet at 180,000 miles?
Both vehicles are overkill for what we will be towing I've always liked the Excursion and the size will come in handy in other areas.
