I'm sorry but I work for a living. I don't get 3 months off I have at most 2 weeks to make my trip, usually only one week.
This year we are going to the Nashville area and it's a 671 mile trip. 1 day down 5 days there 1 day back.
fireman41, Is that the response you get when you talk about rving? Or is that response from you about rving? Reason I ask is, most fire service jobs offer ample vacation and other time off opportunities IE; Comp Time off (CTO), Paid Time off (PTO) and trade time.
I know a less senior fireman has to work to earn time off but even at that you should at least get two to three weeks off a year?
I know I am from the other coast and we work a 48-96 shift schedule, If I needed a few weeks off with out using PTO or CTO I could trade four shifts and get two weeks off.
I know I took a beating from other folks that I got to spend more time RVing then them, but when I explained I worked more than them, the conversation went south from rving.
I am a volunteer, truck driver by trade.I haul cryogenic liquids mostly liquid hydrogen. And if my work falls on a holiday I work even Christmas.
