I added an extension to the outside shower of my previous TT. It was a very simple matter. I got a 1/2 inch nipple (threaded at both ends). I took off the shower sprayer, put the nipple in it's place. I then attached a 1/2 inch threaded hose, one of those flexible one's like you'd put under your kitchen sink or bathroom sink from the water pipe to the faucet... and then attached the shower head to the end of that. Since all the threads were 1/2 inch it was very easy to do. If I am thinking straight, garden hoses are also threaded with 1/2 threads. You could do the same with a a garden hose. Check it out, see if that works. If it does, then you could get a quick disconnect. It sounds like a very good idea for a quick and easy solution for your needs.
