Extra capacity transaxle covers

I'm still getting my 2007 ram 3500 drw 5.9 diesel 4x4 with an 8' bed ready for a TC and thinking of an extra capacity cover for both transaxle's and transmission and using royal purple lub. Allready got bilstein shocks and steering stablizer 6 Michelin tires. According to my door sticker I can carry 4806 which includes passengers inside for a total weight that I can carry. I had a torklift super hitch installed and plan on torklift tie downs.

    Sounds like you're just getting started on this project.
    In all probability, you'll first want to get the upper Torklift "Stableloads" or a set of SuperSprings, possibly a heavy duty sway bar and air bags if the truck doesn't sit level.
    At this point in the project preparation the transaxle / transmission gear is just unnecessary bling.

    The differentials are the LAST thing you need to worry about here. You can put the overpriced shiny covers on and use the overpriced colored lube, but the plain-jane stamped steel covers and the good old 80W90 or 85W140 gear lube that came in them will work just as well.

    No need for the front but the extra oil capacity and cooling area of the larger "DIFFERENTIAL" cover will help in the rear.

    Same can be said for the rear. Don't waste your money, change the gear lube and run the stock covers. You'll overwork other areas of the truck before overheating your diffs.

    High capacity Front diff cover may not clear the front steering components.

    I really see no point in a extra capacity front diff cover, since the truck isn't in 4wd very often... and when it is, it's probably slow speed through sand, etc, or cold and snowy.... neither situation warrants the extra cooling capacity and expense of a new diff cover and extra lube.
