You need to factor in A LOT more than tow ratings, our vehicle has a 5000lb tow rating, but our 3500lb camper (loaded) is the MAX we can handle when you factor in tongue weights and vehicle carrying capacity.
Yes, we tow with our Jeep Libery Diesel, it has a tow rating of 5000lbs, but with tongue weights and carrying capacity, 3500lbs is about its limits with an average travel trailer. So if your vehicle is only rated for 3500lbs, you might be limited to a pop-up trailer.
We really need more info about your vehicle before we can give better advice on what you can tow.
