Trailer spindles are not a precision ground hardened part like you would find in the auto industry. The trailer bearings are adjusted with some clearance and that does not keep the seal perfectly centered. Trailer hubs are subjected to high temperatures from the brakes being an integral part. Cars and trucks do not use the grease fitting for a good reason, the builders know better.
