I am not trying to argue (new people cant argue on message boards!!). I just am curious because it seems to me that some built up half-tons get a bad rap.
You need to go further back than 2000, for a heavy half to have numbers similar to a 3/4 ton!
My 1979 F250 Club Cab long bed had a GVWR of 8,300#, that was limited by HP more than anything else. Had big heavy springs, full floating rear axle, and heavy duty running gear.
While newer 150/1500 are stronger than before, you need to go back a lot further than 2000 to be close.
To the OP's question while past 30' with a lighter TV could get a bit exciting in a cross wind, would rather see him pulling a 5er.
but what was your payload? Many 250s, especially diesels, have a smaller payload than some 150s, because of their overall weight.
