But the Allison is NOT really an Allison. It has the name plate but that's it as it's made by GM.
AISIN is a True Medium Duty Transmission used in many MD applications and simply is a BulletProof trans.
As to shifts I run mine in Tow Haul all the time and love the way it shifts. It's firm but not harsh loaded to 35k or BobTail.
They run very cool. 100 Ambient pulling a long 6% grade at 34k combined temp never went over 172. Normal temp is 165.
As to the 68RFE, I loved mine in my 11 HO DRW RAM. There is a guy on the TDR that hauls RV's and his 68 has 580k trouble free miles.
