F150 payload quetion
I am looking at a new f150 crew cab 4x4 and it looks like the best payload I can get with those options is just under 1500 pounds. Am I reading the towing guide incorrectly? I know I can get up to 2...

All good points. looking at Fords fleet builders specs shows:
... The HD package has the 4800 RAWR 9.75" rear axle.
... The MAX package has the 4050 RAWR 8.8" rear axle.
... 1.33" dia axles with 34 spline for the 9.75" axle in the HD.
... 1.29" dia axles with 31 splines in the 8.8" axle in the MAX.
The 7 lug HD wheels are 2400 lbs rated vs 2025-2100 lbs for the others.
The 8200 GVCWR HD package is set up to carry more weight but tow ratings are similar to the MAX tow.
As far as I know, all the F150s have the 9.75" rear now, even the base models, although the HD payload may be slightly different. I can see why the eco might need it. The torque and low ratio of 1st gear puts a hurtin' on the driveline.
