F150 payload quetion

I am looking at a new f150 crew cab 4x4 and it looks like the best payload I can get with those options is just under 1500 pounds. Am I reading the towing guide incorrectly? I know I can get up to 2500 with a regar cab 4x2.
  • Ok after your replies I found the ford f150 payload selector on fords site. I did see an crew cab 4x4 f150 there with gvwr of 8200 and payload of 2300 pounds. That's the one I was looking for. Thanks.
  • My 09 scab 4x4 xlt has 1426lbs. I added hitch, cap, and running boards. It sure goes down fast! As said, less options gives you more.
  • My Max Tow has between 1800 and 1900 lbs. Order it right and spare the options/packages you don't really "NEED".
HD option has even more...2100-2200 lbs payload.
  • "Most" F-150's are in that range although "Most" forum members have much higher numbers.
  • Looking at the towing guide 1500 is the cargo rating with 8200 gvwr with the payload package. Maybe I am reading it wrong.
  • Just looked at my neighbors 150 CC 4x4 6.5 bed, with Max trailer tow. The sticker on the door showed 1531 payload. It is a 2012 with 3.5 eco.
  • In order to up it, you have to go with the HD package and Max Tow Package.
  • probably not too far off. Betting both have similar if not the same GVWR. Starting with the payload for the regular cab 4x2 you subtract the weight added by the crew cab, doors seats, etc. Then subtract the weight of the extra differential for the front, transfer case, extra cross members, drive shaft and such.
