Here are some real numbers to consider.
My 25 ft. TT dry weight is 5004 lbs. which means little. Loaded for the road it weighs 6200 to 6400 lbs. on the CAT scales.
My 2011 F-150 has the E-boot engine and is rated 356 hp. and can pull 9500 lbs.
Unfortunately the door jamb sticker says my max cargo is 1411 lbs. of which the scales tell me 750 lbs. is tongue weight. So with two adults a dog and camp stuff I am at my max cargo limit. The combination has towed well all over the country but I would not want to pull anything bigger.
Folks can and do push their TVs pretty hard. This adds wear and tear but the biggest issue is performance and drivability. Horse power is your friend, especially in the mountains. We learned this when I used my 200 hp. F-150 in the Ozarks, more hills then mountains but still a bit of a challenge to drive.
The best thing to do is weight the combo on the CAT scales so you know, rather than guess, how each axle is loaded.
Good Luck
