It will help a “fair amount”. Hard to explain to someone who doesn’t have a feel for it, but I’d equate it to, say, adding maybe 30-40hp. IF you’re in the right rpm range for towing. IE, may do the same or a bit better with 3.73s in a lower gear than 4.30s in a higher gear, but 4.30s too low to run the lower gear.
Generally yes it will be better though.
Enough to spend $2-3grand upgrading? Not in my opinion.
If you have larger tires, swapping to the smallest tires you can run will have a similar although less attractive effect.
Few hundred for a good tuner that gives you a 30-40hp bump on premium will have a similar effect.
But none of these will make the truck haul or handle a 5ver better, only more power.
And if you’re at the point that you’re at the limit of what the 3.73s will do to your satisfaction, 4.30s will seem like you flushed money down the toilet.
JMO. Keep what you got and if it ain’t got enough power, get a blower for the 6.2 or get a diesel.
