^ And that same truck will run all day long in 4th or 3rd at highway towing speeds like nothing is going on under the hood. Won't even be able to tell she's wound up if the radio is on, without looking at the tach or the rapidly depleting gas gauge!
It's literally a waste of good dollars to throw at re-gearing that truck for what you want to do.
If one is insistent on having the best gasser tow platform in that model/range of truck, you'd be money ahead to buy one comparable with 4.30s and sell the 3.73 truck. It's not like the deeper gears make it more valuable in general.
Or as I may have mentioned earlier in this thread or one of the other plethora of recent Ford gasser tow big threads, a tuner and some high test gas will net you about the same difference and some other perks that jsut re-gearing won't.
It won't outperform a re-gear, but it'll be close for alot less $ and headache....if you must have just a bit more snort to get up the mountain.
