Get Diesel and Dully! You won't regret it.
Dually eh? Even if I don't come anywhere to the payload of the regular wheeled rig??
This site is dually happy. If you don't need one, then just listen to what the other posters have said- try them all and pic the truck you like best.
Yep. I like my dually, but even if you don't need a dually for weight, do a little home work. With a long trailer like you have you might find the added stability of a dually beneficial. It's just a suggestion to take a look, as there are many personal factors besides the specs that you need to look at.
Good luck finding the truck that fits our needs.
Ah! Very predictable responses here! You all made me laugh real good! By not identifying a brand, just throwing "diesel and dully, or (ok - dually if you want!) :B
Now I've had my fun! in all seriousness for the OP, you won't be disappointed towing anything with a dully (or diesel). Single wheel, short bed may still tow perfectly fine, but once you experienced towing with a dully, you won't want anything less.
Notice, I did not suggest a brand. Quite frankly, I think all 3 of the big brands are equally as good. But I do notice the RAM dully's have a sleeker "fat fender" that doesn't look quite so "fat" as a Chevy.
Other than looks, drive test drive all 3 brands, but compare single wheel to single wheel and dual to dual when you do.
When we purchased our current truck, the dealer let me hitch up my Outback and tow it. Unfortunately, you won't be able to do that if you have a 5er, as the new truck you are test driving probably will not have a pre-installed 5er hitch. But, considering I owned two previous dully's before, I was completely impressed with the truck I ended up with. I could compare a Red Delicious apple to another Red Delicious apple.
You know, I still think it's funny I created such a "rise" on this forum with so few words! (sometimes we all take things just way to serious)! :)
