Check your spare tire. When my truck was less than a year old my light came on and my tires were fine. The spare was low and that was setting it off. I put air in the spare and light went off after about 20 miles. That was over five years ago and and no problems since.
Ford doesn't put TPMS sensors in the spare tires.
In fact you can not change tire positions (rotate the tires) without "retraining" the TPMS system to the new tire locations. Putting the spare in place of one of the tires will result in the TPMS light staying on until the rim with the TPMS sensor is put back on.
There is one in my spare. I also have no retraining as all my tires say 75lbs on the sticker. My spare is the same 75lbs.
NOPE, NONE in MY 2013 F250 Spare.. EVEN STATES THIS IN THE MANUAL (although not clearly but it does).
Page 275..
"When Your Temporary Spare Tire is
Installed
When one of your road tires needs to be
replaced with the temporary spare, the
system will continue to identify an issue to
remind you that the damaged road wheel
and tire assembly needs to be repaired and
put back on your vehicle.
To restore the full function of the tire
pressure monitoring system, have the
damaged road wheel and tire assembly
repaired and remounted on your vehicle."Page 279..
"Note: If your vehicle is equipped with the
tire pressure monitoring system, the
indicator light will illuminate when the spare
tire is in use. To restore the full function of
the monitoring system, all road wheels
equipped with tire pressure monitoring
sensors must be mounted on the vehicle."I see YOU have a 2010, completely different animal.. Ford made a MAJOR redesign for 2011 and up so NOTHING really applies from 2010 or older..
Absolute MIN tire pressure as listed on my door is 65 PSI and I MUST retrain if I move the tires from the position they are trained in.
That IS the "rules" 2011 and up must abide by.
Argue if you like, but I can tell you it would be a real bear to retrain my spare since I would HAVE to "rotate" the entire vehicle in a circle to wake up the sensor in a spare..
