This isn't first hand experience, but a buddy of mine went from a 7.3 F350 to an F650. I'm not sure which engine he has but is likely has 300 or so hp. He says it handles like a dream but doesn't climb hills any faster than his old truck. Not sure how much you want to spend, but a newer diesel dually pickup will perform much better on hills than your current truck.
