Are you serious? 12A of LED's will light up a stadium. I've not seen one less than 8A.
Yah. But, it's not a terrible point to make for somebody with less or no electrical experience. There is nothing wrong about double checking to make sure that the device you put in can carry the current without failing or overheating. True probably 95% of them out there would have no issue with anything my LEDs could pull, but every application is different.
So. It's a helpful point well made IMHO, and will certainly do no harm whatsoever.
