I had a 2015 F-150 with the 36G tank. I ran it a couple times like 20 miles below the "0 miles left" and I only ever got 33 gallons in it, filling it to the top where a little spilled out over the fill port. I asked Ford about it (ford corporate). they opened a ticket and the tech came back and said that internally with the baffles to eliminate sloshign and such can take up space in my tank and that is why i couldnt get 36g.
who knows if thats true, or if the gauge was just wrong.
