Today's vehicle fuel tanks are very 'fitted' or designed for 'that'
vehicle platform...and...most likely NOT fit another
Why there are two sizes...one for a short bed..other for long bed, etc

For the last several months, I have been going at it with the dealer and factory over this issue.
My tank is supposed to be a 31 gallon tank, but based on total mileage per tank and the number of gallons it takes on fill-up, it is obvious that the tank is a 25 gallon tank.
When I purposely have run it "dry" several times, it will only take 24.5 gallons. I show them the receipts and they act like I am trying to act like that isn't proof of anything!
First...NEVER run your fuel tank dry...some use the fuel as both
lube and coolant for the in-tank pump...it will shorten its life
Second...how do you know you ran it dry?
Did sputter and die?
Plus some can NOT be run all the way down to ZERO fuel
They have tried to give me every excuse imaginable but won't admit the mistake. Next week, they are taking the tank off the truck and taking it to a gas station to see how much it holds. DUH!
This is beyond the call and costing that dealer lots of money.
I like that dealership
WITHOUT NAMING YOUR BRAND, have any of you had a similar problem?
If so, how was it resolved to your satisfaction?
Thanks in advance!
